Monday, August 11, 2014
Tokyo- (PanOrient News) Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) have decided to launch a satellite into space via an H-IIA rocket on October 7.
The payload will be the geostationary meteorological satellite Himawari-8.
The launch will take place between 2:16 p.m. and 6:16 p.m. on October 7 at the Tanegashima Space Center’s Yoshinobu launch complex.
The H-IIA is Japan's primary large-scale launch vehicle and is designed to meet diverse launch demands at low cost and with a high degree of reliability.
The simplified design and improved efficiency of the H-IIA have achieved one of the highest performance-to-cost launch ratios in the world.
