Katsuei Hirasawa

Tokyo -- Katsuei Hirasawa is a conservative fifth-term LDP lawmaker who represents the Tokyo 17th District in the House of Representatives.

A graduate of Tokyo University and Duke University, Hirasawa, 64, spent the first part of his career as a bureaucrat in the National Police Agency. As a lawmaker, he has been deeply involved in the North Korea abductee issue.
