Saudi Arabia Appoints Nayef al-Fahadi As Ambassador to Japan

Saudi Arabia has announced the appointment of Nayef bin Marzouq Al-Fahadi as ambassador to Japan. He was sworn in before the Saudi King Salman on Feb. 10.

Al-Fahadi, 46, holds a bachelor's degree in comparative studies from Japan's Miyazaki University and thus has familiarity with Japan. He also earned a master’s in law from Australia's Monash University, according to Saudi media reports and the Saudi foreign ministry.

Al-Fahadi has actively held many positions in Saudi Arabia, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Misk Foundation and as an adviser to its president. The Misk Foundation is a non-profit that aims to empower Saudi youth to participate in the future economy of the region.

Ambassador-Designate Al-Fahadi was also a member of Shura Council in 2013. He served as an adviser to the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority and as a member of the teaching staff at the Institute of Banking in Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, Al-Fahadi has served as a specialized consultant in the field of governance and management. He was also the CEO of Riyadh Competitiveness Center.

An author of several books, Al-Fahadi is a member of the Board of Directors of Middle East for Environment and a member of the governing team of the Al-Ahli Financial Group.
