Five Arabs Honored in Japan's 2010 Autumn Conferment of Decorations

Former Minister of Water Resources of Egypt and Minister of Oil and Gas of Oman were recipients of Japanese annual autumn decorations, Japanese government said.
In addition to the 4115 Japanese, 58 foreigners from 29 countries and territories were also being honored for their contributions to society, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Mr. Mahmoud Abu-Zeid, former Minister of Water Resources of Egypt received The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun "for his contributions to the promotion of the cooperation in water resources between Japan and Egypt" among other activities, according to the statement.
Minister of Oil and Gas in Oman, Mr. Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy, received the same Order “for his contributions to securing stable supply of energy to Japan and thus promoting bilateral economic relations” MOFA said.
Mr. Antoine Ghorayeb, President of JICA Alumni Cultural Cooperative in Lebanon, received the Order of the Rising Sun Gold and Silver Rays "for contribution to the promotion of culture exchanges between Japan and Lebanon." Former local employee at the Japanese Embassy in Algeria, Mr. Abdelmoumene Allaouchincho, received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Rays "for contributing to the activities of the Japanese overseas establishment."
Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Karabash, also a former local employee at the Japanese embassy in Cairo received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Rays "for contributing to the activities of the Japanese overseas establishment.”.
