Tomoko Abe: SDP Must Return to Coalition

Tokyo -- Social Democratic Party policy chief Tomoko Abe told PanOrient News in an exclusive interview that her small, liberal party needs to return to a coalition with the ruling DPJ if it hopes to retain relevance in the Japanese political world, but the current party executives are resisting that course of action.

"A small party cannot do everything itself," she said, "but needs to act as part of a larger coalition in order to see its policies realized."
