“Dolphin and Whale Eco-Research Network” Watches to be Released by Casio

Tokyo- (PanOrient News) Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today that it will release next month its new 2012 model “Dolphin and Whale Eco-Research Network” G-SHOCK and Baby-G watches that help support the protection of the environment.

Since the International Dolphin and Whale Conference was first held in Japan in 1994, Casio has been offering special G-SHOCK and Baby-G models to support the protection of the environment, Casio said. Part of the proceeds from the sales of these watches is donated to the International Cetacean Education Research Center (ICERC) of Japan.

The features of the new watches include "blue colors that evoke a spirit of conservationism, inspired by the beauty of the sea", and "Wristbands with the message: “Love The Sea And The Earth”.

The G-SHOCK (GWX-8900K) model will have also a large face that displays both a tidal graph with presets for tides in 100 locations worldwide, as well as moon data. It also includes an image of whale on the front button, wristband and LED backlight.

Meanwhile, Baby-G (BGR-3004K) model has a transparent blue wristband inspired by dolphins swimming through the clear ocean, the company said. Both the wristband and EL backlight feature the image of a dolphin.

The new models, to be released on June 30, will be priced between 21,000 yen and 25,000 yen (before tax) according to Casio.
