Lineup includes first ever elementary school student model
Tokyo- (PanOrient News) Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today that it will update its EX-word series of electronic dictionaries—Japan’s best-selling electronic dictionaries—with 18 new models to be released, with the first model going on sale from January 24.
The new models are equipped with a scroll pad and two data card slots, making them even more convenient and user-friendly.
The 18 new models have been designed to meet a variety of needs, and each model contains content from multiple dictionaries to offer options for professional and scholarly use, Casio said.
The elementary school student model is new to the Ex-word series, and includes an English dictionary and an encyclopedia, as well as study drills in four different subjects.
Features of the new EX-word series include the introduction of a scroll pad right by the main screen enables for quick and easy navigation when reading long text and novels, and when searching a list of words in the dictionary.
It also has Dual Card Slots that allows two data cards to be used at the same time, meaning that content can be added easily and users do not need to switch cards. The data card lineup has also been updated, with 20 titles newly added.
Both the dictionaries’ main screens and sub-panels are Blanview® color liquid crystal displays that allow for approximately 130 hours battery life.
The color sub-panels feature improved functions to help study, such as color labels, color notes, and color markers, as well as a rote learning card function, Casio said.
