The U.S. dollar rose above the 100 yen line early Monday in Tokyo, supported by the surge of the benchmark Nikkei average over 300 points on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in the same morning, as investors cheered Tokyo's victory in the 2020 Olympic host city race.
