Tokyo- (PanOrient News) The Japanese government will extend emergency grant aid of 3 hundred thousand US dollars through United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization (WHO) for multi-antigen vaccination campaigns in Syria.
A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo said this emergency grant aid is to provide support for nationwide multi-antigen vaccination campaigns in Syria, such as vaccination plan and coordination, the procurement of multi-antigen vaccines and social communication activities for the campaigns.
The vaccination coverage rates of people inside Syria such as measles have sharply declined because of limited public health services due to the crisis in Syria, the statement noted.
