Gerald Curtis: DPJ May Be Heading for Trouble

Tokyo -- Gerald Curtis, professor of Columbia University and one of the most prominent analysts of Japanese politics, told an audience at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan today that the ruling DPJ was likely to be heading for disappointment in the July 11 elections and beyond.

According to his analysis, the DPJ would gain only 50 or 51 seats if the House of Councillors elections were held today.
