The famous Hula Girls of the Joban Spa Resort Hawaiians performed at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan in Tokyo on a fund-raising tour for Fukushima Prefecture. The dancers, who gained international acclaim after a 2006 film by the same name, performed at a special charity event.
In the film, which won five major film awards in Japan, tells the story of a group of young women in Fukushima Prefecture who took up hula dancing as a way to save their depressed coal mine village.
