Japanese Foreign Minister asks Iran to restrain Hezbollah and other groups

TOKYO-(PanOrient News): Japanese Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko met with her Iranian counterpart Seyyed Abbas Araghchi in New York on Monday and urged him to restrain groups such as Hezbollah and the Houthis.
Kamikawa said it was important to avoid a cycle of violence in the Middle East and, according to Japan's Foreign Ministry, "urged Iran to exercise maximum restraint."
She also stressed the importance of safety of navigation in the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. Kamikawa also expressed strong concerns on the issue of Iran's transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia.
Kamikawa told Araghchi that full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding Iran's nuclear plans is essential and urged Iran to take constructive measures to rebuild the nuclear agreement.
She also stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and both ministers agree to continue dialogue between Japan and Iran.
Kamikawa expressed her sincere condolences for the many casualties caused by the explosion at a coal mine in eastern Iran.
