Former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, has expressed his wish to visit Mecca, the most holy city for Muslims.
At a reception hosted by Ambassador Abdul Aziz Turkistani (standing left of Hatoyama) held in a Tokyo hotel on the occasion of the 81st National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Hatoyama said in a courtesy speech that although he is not a Muslim, he would like to visit Mecca.
The reception was attended by over 1000 guests including Yukio Edano, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (standing left of Ambassador Turkistani ), parliamentarians and business people along with the diplomatic corps in Tokyo.
