Japan is Concerned about the Lebanese Situation

Tokyo- (PanOrient News) Japan's Foreign Ministry expressed its concerns today about the situation in the Republic of Lebanon "in which a number of the Cabinet members under Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced their resignation on January 12."

A statement by the Ministry said Japan hopes that all interested parties of Lebanon will demonstrate a calm and constructive attitude while respecting the rule of law.

Japan supports the efforts of President Michel Suleiman toward the early establishment of a new Cabinet and the maintenance of democratic institutions, according to the statement.
